Day 12 – Back in Drammen but no sign of the ring

”Udsikt fra Paradisbakkerne”, (“View from The Paradise Hills”) by P. F. Wergman in 1835.

Places

After the founding of Kongsberg Silverworks in 1623, a new road had to be built to transport the silver ore to Christiania. Around 1665 the road was extended to Bragernes, through Lier and all the way to Christiania.

From the top of Paradisbakkene (Paradise Hills Road) there is a magnificent view of the Lier valley and theDrammen fjord. Numerous painters have been inspired by the view, and both Norwegian and foreign authors and poets have described the view from these hills. (Source: Geocaching)
